warning warning tuner issues

as alot of you have seen i have been posting and asking questions about the new bully dog Triple Dog GT Gas Gauge Tuner mine had came in yesterday for my 04 f250 5.4 and was sent back today. it is to be for a 2004 and up f250 but it will not work on all 2004 says bully dog??? my truck is a 4 of 2004 f250 and they said it only works for certain months on the 2004 models so be cautions of the products. once the Triple Dog GT Gas Gauge Tuner was shipped back to summit for a refund i have already ordered a troyer performance SF3 Power Flash Handheld Programmer with custom tunes in it tech asked alot of question to make sure everything will be correct for my truck great service. so we will see if all the talk on here about the sct will hold its truth

I am not sure but will offer this...

I live right here by Summit, Nick named "Dummit" My one buddy worked in there machine shop for a while. He quit. He told me some real horror stories.

There tech dept sucks... They ussually dont have a clue. To get a job there, you just need to be able to work a computer... No auto tech info needed. Some guys there know what they own, but few and far between. Mostly ricers...

They punch info you give them into a computer, ands it spits info back at them. No IQ needed. Just read it like you know it. "Talk show hosts" only you cant see ther eyes moving... LOL

What I do is, I gather all my info. See whats going on, or beeing used, or winning, Combo?? what ever it takes to get it right... Then we call around for best price. Summit has a great return policy. We have gone to summit, dumped 5 or 6 grand on parts Cams, carbs... Then gone to the track, or rented the track for a day. And started testing, then returned what didnt work. Thats what they are good for... They Dont handle names like Barry Grant because if this reason. The summit rack (return stuff or demo stuff) is always full of stuff, you can buy for a real discount...Just cant return it, if you bought it from the rack.

The guy that owns it lived about a mile from my house... now his ex lives there. I dont know what happend to him...

Hope this helps

What kind of fuel economy gains did you get if any with the diablo. How about performance, was it noticeable?

for what it's worth...
Had the predator on my 03 until I sold it and had the superchips on my 02 until I sold it....

Now have the SCT xCal2 on my 05 and it is far and away the best of the three....

And on edit:

While there may be some mpg gain, it never justifies the purchase of a $400 unit or so....
any mpg gains are typically eaten up by the fun factor caused by excesisve pedal pushing

Mustang6147-
Fuel economy- maybe .5MPG.
I loaded their standard tune. The biggest change I noticed was in acceleration. I have 3.73's, and it now acts like it has 4.30's.
When I ordered it, I figured it was worth a try. I went from the stock 265's to 285's, and wanted to correct the speedo. The dealer wanted $160. to reflash the PCM, so I figured the programmer would be half paid for by not having to fork over $160. to the stealership.
