1991 5.0 check engine light

1991 5.0 check engine light
CEL keeps coming on and off. Of course as soon as I get to where I can check it it goes off. Any ideas guys? Engine runs good, no skips or anything and I know an OBD I system isn't gonna tell you much.
Next, What type of front suspension is on a 1991 fors f-150 4x4. It's not twin I-beam. is it?

Pull codes anyways. The CEL doesn't have to be illuminated.

Find the EEC test harness on the drives innner fender and jumper the STI and Sig-Rtn lines with a wire or paperclip... see www.forfuelinjection.com for pics and details. Now turn the key to run and the codes will flash on the check engine light.. as long as your EEC isn't toasted.
