I am rebuilding my 76 F100 4x4. It has a 9 inch rear. I called SSBC to inquire about a disc brake conversion and was told they don't have anything for trucks that old (unless it's a cheby). They list parts for 9 " large bearing rears but they won't even talk about it. My suggestion tell them to advertise elsewhere.

This guy will http://www.tsmmfg.com/ good company and great parts and you can get as much or little of the kit you want so you can outsource some of the parts.
Brackets for the 9 inch ford are easy to come by and just as easy to make. You can use a caliper that SSBC does make, since they make a replacement caliper for chebby trucks used in the front. You will just have to use them in the rear.
If you dont require a stainless steel caliper and you can use a std. front caliper, then hit up your locak auto parts stores. These calipers are about 11 dollars. Yes, 11. Some are slightly more expensive but right at 13 bucks this is probably not a deal breaker.
My last disc brake upgrade for a 9 inch was around 100 bucks total. !00% bolt on with minor modifications.
So many kits are availabe for the 9 inch, and these are sooooooo easy to convert.
