how hard would it be to swap an FE (390) into an 89 f-150 that's already set up for a carb but now has a 5.0 in it, i have a 700hp nitrous fed 390 in my t-bird and i need to do a bunch of work to the car before it is driveable but the motor is built and ready, i don't see myself finishing this car in the next few years and hate to see the motor sit
so is it just a matter of making a set of headers, motor mounts, buying a 4x4 c6 tranny/transfercase and driveshafts?
how would the little ttb d44 hold up with 33x12.5 bft a/ts 4.56 gears but on an open carrier with all new heavy duty u-joints? think it would hold up if i romped on it with the wheels straight?
now what about the 8.8in rear? i have billet u-joint girdles on it and 4.56 gears and a trac lock with a WHOLE BUNCH of clutches in it (ie drags tires around in parking lots at low speed with no throttle) it has 31 spline axles in it and that's it, i do have 5 leafs in the springs
check out fossen racing blog im putting a 390 into an 87 that had a 6.9L diesel, and i will be putting pictures on after we finish it this weekend. he has two so if its not one its on the other
