No, there is such a thing. there are very few of them on th eroad. It was a special option that had to be special ordered. you could also order this option on the f-150!:-X12
I wouldn't buy. The 4.6L is not enough power as it is for the 7500 pound EXPY. You definetly wouldn't be able to tow anything reasonably big. At least get the 4.6L. Even better is th e5.4L!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-Dec-02 AT 10:39 AM (EST)]This vehicle is definitely an 8. Given the expense of certifying engine/drivetrain/chassis combinations for emissions compliance, there is no way Ford would offer a v6 on just a few Expeditions. It would be financial suicide.
I think we are just encountering a typo in the vehicle description.
Product Specifications
The F-Series offers three engine choices; a 205-hp V-6, 220-hp V-8, and 260-hp V-8. Available in 2 and 4 wheel drive and manual and automatic transmissions. ABS is optional.
It appears that you have found a description of the F-150 pickup, not the Expedition. Even though the X is based on the F-150, not all F-150 drivetrain packages were found on the X (e.g., V6, manual trans).
V6 expy would be bad. it would not be add an economy option because the engine would have to work so hard, it would get the same or worse mileage than a 5.4l
I dont even know why dodge put the V6 in its durango. I mean yeah, it is appealing to some customers so i guess it makes it count, but really it has no function.

Ain't no such animal that ever left a Ford plant- I've worked with Ford fleet customers and special production options quite a bit, and I'd remember if they ever put a SIX in an Expy. Like they say, the 4.6 is marginal at best, but a 4.2? NO WAY!!!
