Ram-mount
I have obtained the VB-108-SW1 from www.gpscity.com. I cannot install the base plate.
The passenger seat bolts angle down. Per the mount's instructions, the base should install under the seat mounts. I've even tried on top of the seat mounts.
When installed, under the seat mount, the seat mount bolt holes will not line up to accept the bolts.
When installed, on top of the seat mount, the same problem exists.
I'm perplexed, as gpscity says they have never had a problem like this before.
If any one has installed this mount successfully, please let me know how you did it.
Thanks,
Al
I removed the 2 front bolts, pushed the seat to tip back, enough to get the mount under, and let it go back, and put the 2 bolts back in. The large holes in the mount align with the cupped part of the seat brackets to center and locate the mount. I will snap a couple of pics when I get home from work.
I'm not sure about your truck, but mine - with the power seats - are on an incline (downcline) to the floor.
The base is angled for under the seat. Gpscity tech support said, when I called about the installation, that most of the f350s were done on top of the seat rail. Seems to defeat the purpose of the rail fitting inside the base's holes.
On top of the seat rails, there is no place in the base for the bolt heads to turn down onto. It's just a hole. I guess washers could do, but the bolts are too short for that installation.
If I have to modify with longer bolts and washers, then I think Ram should pay for them.
I have a Ram in my '01 International 4700 LP, and like it a lot. That's the only reason I considered this mount. It was either this or a Jotto
Thanks, Al
I emailed gpscity and they're going to pick up the mount.. But I asked them if they knew of any reason why this wouldn't work. I'm still waiting for a reply.
I've attached pictures of my unit, hope this helps. Maybe you'll see something I'm missing.

I did loosen the bolts - nearly 100%. I did everything I could to get things lined up, but just couldn't.
The bolt heads are about 3/4" accross, definitely not even close to 1". In fact, I used a 3/4" wrench and it was a little too big, but did grasp enough to do the job.

The holes in the mount should be about 1 1/4 inch in diameter, for the cup (where bolts are) on the seat tabs to fit into.

I've tried everything.
The problem is that the holes just won't line up.
I've been under the rails, over the rails.
I've used fender sashers to hold the bolt heads when putting the base over the rails.
I'm at a loss. GPSCity can't figure it out either.
Calling Ram is a joke. They just refer you back to GPSCity through their automated system.

Do you have a pic of your base showing the mounting holes by itself? The pics you posted earlier make it appear like the holes are small.
GPSCity says it's definitely the right base.
I just think the base's arms are not angled enough. As far as the seats's rails sitting in the base's holes - that's not a problem.
When the base is under the seat it just lifts the seat rails too high, thus misaligning the bolt holes.
They said that most with my truck put the base on top. Then why do they say under - really confuses me.
But, if I could put it on top, as I tried, there needs to be some type of washer that the bolt could turn down on, plus longer bolts. That's the least I could figure. Of course it would look like hell.
I'm tired of playing with it, so it's going back. I don't know what else to do with it, short of being a wall ornament.
Thanks for your help though.

But, I don't think that should be something I need to do.
This product is just too expensive for me to fool around with it like that.
A product is either made right or not a all. IMHO.
Thanks though.
