Thumbs down Cap and Cargo light

Hello,
Picked up an F150 xl Regular cab 16 valve 4.6 liter this past Friday.
Have Line-x apppointment scheduled and am ordering a Leer cap today.
Questions? Cargo light comes on when door is opened and stays on for awhile. Is there a way to only have cargo light come on when needed? This can be done with dome light but have not figured out cargo light.
What has everyone done with exterior cargo light when putting a cap/ topper on? Should I just pull the bulbs before cap goes on?
Thank you
Andy63

Not that big of a deal. Do not always want to advertise at 4:30 am when leaving in the morning. With cap on cargo light will be blocked and hard to get to. Just wandering if there is a way to turn it off.

The cargo light becomes useless anyway. I pulled the bulbs from the cargo lights and overhead brake light before I had my topper installed.

And the sound of your motor and headlights lighting up the night don't advertise anything?

Yes, on the XLT, you can disable both cab and cargo lights with the interior light switch. I set mine not to go on as I don't want to be seen entering or leaving cab. Good for early morning hunts and stealth. Chris

Did you look in the owner's manual?

A burned out bulb on a 2009.....WOW that is surprising.

This is for my 97 F250LD. There is no info on the bulb in the manual.

+1 I just used this feature last weekend. Working on the truck with the door open.
