2000 E150 Van Interior Light Won't Come On

Hello,

I have a 2000 E150 cargo van. Interior and cargo lights won't come on when I open the doors. They don't come on even when I turn the dimmer switch to "ON".

I looked up the owner manual but couldn't find any info on fuse or relay controlling the interior lights.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

While the owners manuals have a lot of info often times they don't have specific info like fuse locations or function. This might not be the case with your 2000 so I might be incorrect there.

At any rate the Central Junction Box or inside the cabin fuse block check #4---should be a 15 amp fuse. Check it with a test light or pull it from the block and test for continuity---don't rely on a visual only inspection trying to determine if its passing current or not.

Thanks.
Just got this van. Not familiar with its set up. Found the junction box, fuse #4 blown. Also, driver door switch disconnected. Replaced the fuse and reconnnect the switch. Lights come back on.

Thanks again.

We are a collection of geniuses here----heed our words like gospel!

Just kidding naturally but if you're doing a lot of your own electrical work get an EVTM, eBay is the most plentiful and affordable source. The owner's manuals have fuse layout diagrams but an EVTM's are full schematic's for your particular year chassis/body.
