overdrive problem
I have an 88 ford ranger 4x4, has a 2.9l auto in it. From when I bought it back in June till today my overdrive never worked, it was always off. Now just today it finally kicked on and I wasn't cruising at 65mph at 3000 rpm, now its like 2100. But it still comes and goes. I am thinking about taking it to a trans shop and have them check it out but I was wondering it anyone here had any good advice as to why it would be doing this. Is there a pressure switch for the trans in those autos that might not be working? And why would it just kick on now?
