Personally, I would not do it. I think your truck looks much better like it is.
I don't like pre runner fenders and I think only a regular cab looks right as a prerunner.
I had a small lift with 32 inch tires and some other stuff like a grille gaurd etc. All it did was basically make everything worse on my truck. Fuel economy was about 12 or so. It gets 17 now. The ride, handling, braking, and overall performance suffered. It also cause the brake pads to wear much quicker. I would never do it again. I say think before you lift it.
I would only lift a truck if it was a toy and was actually going to go offroad.

I may agree with you on the first part. I may disagree on the second though, when I type in "Ford f-150 prerunner" on Google Images, most of what I see is extended cab but I do see your point. Thanks for the input.
Make a prerunner out of a 1st gen lightning. After all, thats where the lightning originated from. They were originally built to compete in the Baja. Then they produced the street version known as the lightning

I saw the first ones compete in SCORE stock fullsize class at the Mint 400 in like '92 or '93, they were BAAAAAAAD! I wanted one soooo bad.
I think the reason I don't like the full prerunner look, is the same reason I don't like the 4x4 fender flares and stuff like that. I just don't like anything that resembles a body kit or ground effects etc.

Cool--I'd like to read a history of that, if you have a link to one, Brad.
Southernblues,
I have my truck set up Pre-runner style with Front Bumper and bed mounted Tire Carrier. I like the way it looks and get many people asking me about.
I'd love to see some pics of that--especially the tire carrier--is it an integral roll bar, too? Does it go to the frame, or just to the bed? I'd like to see the bumper(s) too!

Big Six
The tire carrier is bed mounted and the front is a pre-runner light bar bolted to the stock bumper. Got both from Summit Racing. Have photos posted in my garage
