08 Ford e-350 diesel van cat

I have a 08 E-350 quigley van with a 6.0 liter (yes they still put this engine in the vans) It has a catalitic convertor on it & I dont like that. Would there be any reason I couldnt take it out & gut it out? I dont see sensors before or after the cat? I belive I could unbolt it with no welding so the dealer wouldnt notice that i gutted it out. The earlier model years didnt have this so why have it now?

4 questions about doing this

#1 Is it a good idea for fuel economy or longevity of the engine?

#2 would it mess with any cpu or powertrain module junk?

#3 has anyone done this

#4 would it be louder?

O yea, please dont tell me about the earth or the law.

I don't believe you would have a problem, FYI all 6.0s F-series and E-series have a catalytic converter. If there are no sensors like the 6.4's then there will be no codes set, the muffler should still reduce the noise but you probably won't see any performance increase.

thanks, I didnt know they all had cats. I could have sworn the 05 F-250 I used to own didnt have one, maybe I just didnt notice it.

Have these Cats caused any problems ? If not I might just leave it there.

Our E450 is bone stock and still has the cat, no problems, see signature line below;

As stated above, there were very few problems with those cats, few and far between definitely. I can think of only one that I replaced during my entire career.
