Summer traffic at busy intersections and these trucks just don't mix. Are any of the power adders solving this problem? I am getting tired of launching off the break to get into traffic. I just want to be able to move forwards as I start pushing the go peddle.
If you want power with an increase in economy, then go with Spartan. Power is awesome and with the DashDAQ you can monitor anything you wish..... Tunes are available form 40 to 275hp with a 310 tune coming out soon....
You kidding? Thats the see ya delay.... Some goof pulls up next to ya and the light hits then they start to pull away cause the turbo is boostin up then uh oh se ya later time!! Thats a delay I can live with!!!!
Ford built it in to the programming due to the new emission requirements but I havent heard the Dodge or GM guys complain about it yet. I agree its dangerous. I have adjusted my driving style and expectations but its a real shame. My little 4 banger beater car with over 200k will cross an intersection and eat a sandwich before my truck makes it through.
Ive always been concerned with it, it wasnt until tonight that it out right scared me. The delay was longer than normal. So much so that I jammed on the brakes and threw it into reverse to get out of the intersection. It's not only embarasing its dangerous.
Maxplaya21, You and I have had the same emergency experience. It is probably worse than others are talking about. I drove around with Ford's recording device and caught symptoms twice - indicating something dropping in the fuel pressure system. In shop for a week with this and another oil leak, yet unfortunately both the hestation and oil leaks have returned. Going back in Wed.
I've owned my truck for less than a month and I'm already having second thoughts about it! The delay on take off is very dangerous. It's put me in fear a couple of times about being t-boned. My '02 never did that! Add to that the fact that it "cleans the exhaust filter" at intervals of less than 200 miles, and you've got a truck that was designed for something other than driving. If I end up eating a big $$ loss to get a truck that'll do it's job, it certainly won't be a Ford.
IF you guys don't like it, just think of how bad I have it with the delay on my F-550. When both fuel tanks are full my truck weighs in right at 10,000 pounds. It will start at a snails crawl until the turbo kicks it in the butt, then watch out. It speeds up quick...not what you want a truck to do in traffic by any means.
