We have run MSD's on street engines for some time and durasparks as well. The MSD did wonders for smoothing out a 79 400 Bronco with a cam and a 4300 carb. Even on mildly cold mornings (hunting time) that thing was a real bear to get warmed up with any decent idle. The MSD really did good with that. Thats somewhat a problem with them, they will damn near fire water, so most any mixture adjustment will work, even if its not right. There is no noticeable advantage over the duraspark at other points that we could tell. I dont see any need for the MSD dizzy either. The magnetic pickup ford dizzy works fine and bunches cheaper. If I remember correctly, you can swap out the points dizzy plate and cam assy for one out of a late model duraspark magnetic one, if you dont have the later dizzy. LOL
