bad CLUNK from front end
03 f250 6.0, passenger side, when the wheel turns, i hear a grinding sound, and it seems that the hub locks up and the axle turns as well - which i think is the CLUNK i hear, and then when the hub locks, as the axle turns it sometimes squeals and makes noise. i noticed a rubber seal that sits behind the knuckle on the axle is loose and just hanging out. i think i have gotten water in the hub. when i was offroad awhile back. my lock is cracked.
so i am at a loss now as to what to fix. do i replace the hub? what about that other seal thats just loose? i dont think thats part of the hub ***. and why is it that my hub keeps locking up when the wheels is turning?
and most important, is this damn thing going to fail on me at any moment? the noises are certainly un nerving.
