im not looking for some high gloss undercoating like you see on some rigs.. but something that looks clean, and taken care off.. plus something that wont blow off when cleaned with a pressure washer
I did it on this truck

thanks!!.. the pictures help the most,, anybody can say what they just got off the shelf for a good price.. but if you put it on a newer truck like that,, they must have a pretty good product,, ill start doing some research and maybe when the day comes ill try them out.
thanks again
John.
every where i look they just sell it in little quarts, some places you can buy a case of it, for upwards of around 25$, how far does 1 quart get you? not very far im guessing.
Let's say one wanted to use the Hurculiner to coat some places underneath, like in the fender areas where you wouldn't want to wire brush to bare metal .... wonder how well it would work to spray in something with a real toothy textutre like textured trunk paint, etc .... then roll on a coat or two or three of Huirculiner, build it up ?????
that is a very good point!! i never really thought about that.. some products have a very ruff gritty finish when done right,, i suppose a ruff surface is just as bondable as a scratched metal surface,, i suppose it depends on the chemicals used in the first coat,, some products wont stick even if the logic behind it seems fool proof..
either way i know where you are coming from when you said you dont wana wire brush it all down,, i need to do all my fender wells, underneath the bed between the cab and the bed and along side the bed by my frame rails.. maybe even leaf springs and axels if the finish product looks good enough !!
A qt will go quite a long ways. It will do all 4 wheel wells . As for using trunk splatter paint, then topcoating w hurculiner. I think that is a bad idea. The tunk paint is not designed to be top coated, no less hold all the extra weight of the hurculiner. And if you have ever used trunk paint you will know how easy it flakes off
one company sells them in a case of 6.. if 1 does about 4 wheel wells then a case would do everything i need and maybe even more.
i am curious what paint you used on top?
In the wheel wells of my dually it was topcoated w base/clear dupont chromabase. I am doing a 79 f150 that i am doin the rockers and the inner rear fender wells. I'll see if i can get you some pics of the rockers that are done.
I use AL's Liner. Very good product for the DIYer. Check out there site www.Alsliner.com I've used it several times, easy as pie to do, and very durable. I've hauler motor blocks, remodeling tools in the bed of my DD. things stay in place, and it's UV stable, it's still just as black as it was when I sprayed it in.
I have qwikliner spray on bedliner and it works well.It is tough, durable, water resistant. The unique flexible, textured, non-porous lining is easy to clean and will not warp, crack or peel
