2nd Post All, Looking to improve my mpg and would like to have a little fun with it also.. I pull a 10000lb Center Console but 99% of the time it is on a lift in the port, so it isn't a factor. I've heard of the spartan and talked to a guy that had stacks and was getting 20mpg solid.. Suggestions?
spartan is probably the best and most advanced. i have the edge racing tuner with dpf delete. your gonna have to delete the dpf/cat to see any fuel mileage increases which means you have to get a dpf delete tuner. spartan, edge, sct are a few of the top names that most people use on the 6.4's. the spartan and sct's are custom tunable but are more expensive. i pull a 25 ft. center console myself and i love my edge. it was a good price makes good power and i can get about 18 or 19 mpgs but i cant seem to keep my foot off the throttle! so just research and find whats best for you.
The Spartan is head and shoulders above anything else on the market, SCT included. It PROPERLY tunes the 6.4 and the tuner is also a complete gauge package.
I also don't think you can beat Spartan tunes. The power is awesome. You have choices of tunes from 40 to 275hp, and the 310 is coming soon. You get a choice of 3 tunes from 40 to 210. Anything above that hp is extra. Plus with the DashDAQ you can monitor anything that you wish. It can clear diagnostic trouble codes, has audible alerts, and there is also an add on GPS feature if you wish to purchase it...
I put the Spartan tuner on yesterday, DPF/CAT delete pipe, and AFE intake. All parts went on yesterday.
I cannot belive I did not do it sooner, but I was reluctant with a new truck.
The power is amazing, I am also already seeing mileage gains, I will post hand calculated mileage after a few tanks.
I also recommend doing the intake at the same time as it will let your engine breathe easier.
It was an easy process.
Do it if you can.
