I think it looks great. I always wanted one on my truck but I heard a one guy say he lost two miles to the gallon on the highway when he installed his visor. I could use the shade though. Anyway I think you should keep the visor, it looks great on your truck.
That guy is full of crap.
What are the visors like out on the highway?
Ever notice anything like it being a wind drag or being noisy?
Looks doesn't matter to me at all it's functionality that matters.
You look like you live in a shady place, do you "need" shade?
Thinking about adding one to my '91 Bronco since the windshield
slants back so far, compared to the '75 F150.
Guess I better buy it quick huh, Brad?

I just spent 2 weeks trying to locate one for my friends 79 i am redoing. It ended up costing me$$250$$ I remember when these were $99
used is differnt story. I was out a ford carlisle and could of bought a used one w no hardware for 50 but i was under the understanding i could of gotten a new one for under 200. When i got home and went to order the new one.I was informed they were no longer available
When I put the visor on my last truck there was no wind noise, and no loss in mpg. The only thing I didn't like about it was after a rain, the recessed areas hold water and it all comes spilling onto the windshield when you take off. Thats what wipers are for though.

All you have to do is drill 1/8" holes in the recessed spots of the visor to let it drain.

thats B.S. unless he COMPLETELY sealed the gap between the top of the cab and the inside of the visor, they leave a gap in there for a reason, i saw NO change in MPG watsoever...no noise at all either
i like my truck much more with the visor than without, it makes it look bigger and meaner hahaha, i think im on the fence with yours though, but i think i would still keep it, i like visors, they are nice to have i didnt think it would work nearly as well as it does
Yah...that visor looks pretty bad--but I can probably find a home for it--you'd better ship it over to me! LOL
I like visors, aesthetically. But I have no idea what they really do, function-wise. I think most trucks look better with them--sportier, somehow.
I never considered wind noise, and I think Blue Rebel commented, but does anyone else have experience with this? I HATE excessive (non-header/engine) noise like wind, and I'd be very bummed if it increased AT ALL.
So...some questions I hope the OP will find helpful, if others answer them:
1. Wind noise--more or less?
2. MPG--more or less?
3. What does a visor do, except provide some shade, and look cool? And is this shade noticable?
4. Does it make scraping ice harder?
5. Does rain jam up under it when driving, or do other funky things because of the visor? (Other than the "pooling and drooling" metioned earlier.)
6. Does it make seeing TRAFFIC SIGNALS more difficult?
1. Wind noise--more or less?--------I noticed no difference
2. MPG--more or less?----------------I noticed no difference
3. What does a visor do, except provide some shade, and look cool? And is this shade noticable?---------more or less for looks, adds some shade
4. Does it make scraping ice harder?--------very little
5. Does rain jam up under it when driving, or do other funky things because of the visor? (Other than the "pooling and drooling" metioned earlier.)-------------No
6. Does it make seeing TRAFFIC SIGNALS more difficult?---------------If you are that far up, yes, but you have to look straight up?
