Can anybody take a picture of the cab lights on their truck that is from the top? All i can get is from the side view... I am looking to buy some and install them on my truck, but I would like to see if I cannot get a picture of the lights on the truck. If somebody could stand in their bed and take a picture looking down on the lights that would be great...
Also if they could measure the distantances between the lights and how far back I would need to put them too.
When I put mine on I got them at the scrap yeard for $25 for the set, and measured them at 12" apart on centers and the holes for the wiring 8" back from the front edge. That will put the front edge approximately 6" form the edge with the wiring coming straight dowin into the holes. I drilled 1/2" holes to fish the wire through as the factory punched out "D" windows in the roof of similar size and these and easily grommeted. Then when I took the headliner down, I took the front curved piece above the windshield out and set it on top of the cab and measured from the edge of that to square it. Since it mirrors the factory curve of the cab only from the inside of the windshield it makes it perfecto trace a base curve aligne the lights from rather than 5 different measurements which may not be square. Now most lights are aligned straight back but due to the curve and wanting it to look right you can either make a straigh line accross the back side of the rear two and measure the distances always out from the center and create a straight line or simply aligne the front edges with the headline piece which will give about a 1-2* curve to them which is indistinguishable from the ouside (you should know you saw mine and they are angled rather than square) also if you dont like the look of them on 12" centers and want more of a tractor look move the the inner lights around the center in the number 2 and 4 position in 1/2-1" more. Also best if you lay everything out the way you want them to look and trace them with a pencil as you can easily see it on a white truck and itll wash off then youll be assured youll put em back where you wanted when you start drilling and screwing. I also make sure to walk along the cowl nearest the windshield so you dont dent the hood. Good Luck.
