Got the new flash and now my truck runs like a pig. It seems like the boost and fuel has been turned way down; Towing is not as easy as it was. Any ideas?

I really hope you have better luck than I did.
When the dealer did that to mine, which was an 05 and the flash done in 07 the truck did exactly as you're describing and was never the same. After that it started breaking down every six to eight weeks, until I just had enough and got rid of it.
anybody have info or a link to that shows what the new flash does?
i had the buzz then now the inductive heating and know what those are about but am curious about this "new" one... thanks
Inductive heating is the last flash. There are probably a LOT of people driving 6.0's that don't have a clue. They just fuel, drive, and take it to the dealership for service if it breaks. BTW......dealerships are not the only ones that can flash the FICM's. There are a couple or 3 tuner guys that can do it too. Most people aren't aware that the first Predator tuners also flashed the FICM's until they were "programmed out" by the later ford flashes and didn't have enough capability to reprogram anymore.

Good luck.
This is one of the reasons I haven't done any flash upgrades to this point. I have been around automation equipment for enough years to know that upgrading to the latest flash isn't always a good thing.
This is one reason to pick up a spare FICM and send it to either Innovative or PHP to have them update the FICM.....which isn't intended for emissions and thus it adds power and mileage according to those who've done it.
Not at flashes are performance related because when the dealership programs one computer like the PCM it also reprograms the TCM and FICM. Many of the updated programming has to do with refining trans shift points or correcting other errors that cropped up. As for the injector related new flash, the old one used a post cycling of the injectors when you shut the truck off. Customers complained about hearing the injectors cycle when they walked away from their trucks, the idea was to keep stiction from occuring on next start up by buzzing the injectors. The new program energizes both coils open/close at the same time between injector firings hundreds of times a second to warm up the injectors in just a few seconds and eliminate stiction. Has this increased injector buzzing caused FICM's to fail more often? I don't know but I know I didn't have to replace FICMs for the first few years they built the 6.0 and now 1 in 10 vehicles that come into the shop need one.
SO, in my opinion reflashing modules does solve some concerns but should really only be done when directed to by an ssm or tsb
