I am so leary about introducing any new flash into my truck. Knock on wood......I don't even know when my truck was flashed last...It runs great, always starts and has no loss of power. I'm leaving it as is.

Good or bad?

if you bring your truck in for service....
if a newer flash is available, typically it is pushed in....

Think the dealerships are directed to do tha by Ford...

Yeah...you are correct. I specifically have told the dealer (out of warranty now) to not flash...I'll go as far placing a piece of tape on the OBD connector with 'NO FLASH".

It may bite me later....but for now my truck runs great.

Thanks for posting this info. I have to take my truck in shortly to get the 60K transmission flush & fluid change and will definitely tell them not to upgrade anything. My truck runs great and I plan to leave it that way. I know some of the flashes are supposed to help but I figure if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Telling them not to flash it is no assurance of them not doing it. They flashed mine after promising me that they wouldn't. I am still mad and that was well over a year ago. Lost a LOT of power and some economy as well. I thought that the trailer brakes had locked up me it was so bad. I'm serious. I pulled over and checked for heat on the trailer wheels.

I know....but I taped the $h*t out of the obd and it remained untouched...they would have had to destroy the tape job to get the obd.....I can only assume they did not

That's a cheaper good idea. I've seen some companies selling a plug that goes in the OBD-II port that says "Do not flash" on it. But like you said, you can tell if they tear through the tape. I always tell my dealership not to flash it, but after I had my turbo replaced 3 months ago, my mileage has been consistently down and I'm wondering if they didn't flash it while they had it, or maybe it's just me enjoying the new turbo!
