Polished/Waxed my EX today....
Today I Polished/Waxed my Excursion. I purchased a gallon of Blue Coral Syntheicut 8601 cleaner polish. This has got to be some of the best made.
My Excursion has not been polished in exactly 1 year and is black. One coat of this polish done the job very well no swriles or any problems. I hand polished it. It actually nearly looks new again. The polish went on easy and came off easy, and I do mean easy.
I purchased this polish from a detail shop a couple of years ago and have no idea where it can be bought now.
If your guys can find some you should try it ! This is the best stuff on black finishes I have ever used, and the ole man has waxed a lot of cars. I actually bought this stuff for my white SHO.

No I did't use the whole gallon on the Excursion, heck I had the wax before I even got the Excursion. If you notice in the first post I've had the wax for a couple of years. I waxed all my cars out of that gallon including the lawn furinture, lawn mower and about everything else and still have about 3 quarts. I even gave my neighbor some to wax his 7.3 F-350 Crew Cab.
The only way you can buy this kind of wax is by the gallon.

ScottF4444,
Actually my arms aren't sore its the tips of my fingers and wrists. I used a little 2 rung step ladder, just a hop and a jump up and down to do the hood. Also I cheated just a little bit " didn't do the top", although I did do the side panels on the top.
Cbradford,
Bring that Big Ole 2005 of yours on down, I'll furinish the wax and the shade.

You young whipper snappers
I let the car wash down the street do a mini-detail for about $35 every so often....
I pride myself on never having washed ANy of my 3 ex's Just too many things going on.... (one of which is laziness!)
No brush exterior only wash there for $3

You know you got the right idea.
I also send mine through the 3 dollar car wash about once a month. After I pull it out I towel it dry, vacuum it if nessary and take it home and dress the tires. One thing about the 3.00 car was it will get the top clean. I never use the roof racks on mine (I have them off).
I have always kept my cars clean for the last 40 or so years, "Whoops I gave my age away" Teehe !

HAHA
It was raining here the last week and noticed EXACTLY where I too did my tire dressing !
It seals the concrete so well it is impervious to rain and so I have mulitiple little white rectangles made out of the four tire patches
guess that's one of the FEW good things about the little bit of rain heyer in Texus ! only see that every so often !!!
