On my '96 EB 150 2WD 6cyl 5-speed, the top of the rear wheel wells measure 34 1/2 inches high, which to me seems about right. On the fronts, though, it sits 31 inches high, which seems to be low. First of all, is it recomended to try to even them out to 34 1/2 all the way around? Secondly how would it be accomplished? I would think just to replace the front coils should do it. How do I make sure I don't 'overdo' it on the fronts? Any thoughts?

These trucks are designed to sit higher in the rear, if all 4 tires are perfectly vertical when the tires are pointed straight forward the suspension is correct. It doesn't take much weight to bring the rear down several inches.. only 200lbs or so would bring it almost level. If you don't fancy hauling around that kind of weight all the time and would like the truck to sit more level then it'll be easier to lower the back then raise the front, swapping in some rearched springs or even removing a leaf would do it.
I have a pair of Wester Chassis lowering shackles that I was going to experiment with when I replace the rear leaf spring bushings and hangers. The lowering shackles have 2 holes for a 1 inch or 2 inch drop.
