I've got a 1999 F150. The air bag light is one. It flashes twice, then pauses, then flashes 5 more times. What does that mean? I tried to get an inspection, and noone will overlook it. WTF. Anyway, I removed the gauge cluster and removed the air bag lightbulb. I then noticed the godd damn warning chime in the truck keeps going off WTF! How do I remove the warning chime its going to drive me nuts. Thanks!
well you might want to get it checked out, cause that airbag is a bomb waiting to go off, if its system is screwed up. Trust me you don't want that thing going off while your driving down the road.

Ehh why would it do that? I decided to just put the bulb back in and then
i put a piece of black tape behind the gauge cluster to black out the light.

Can you cite your source on this one? Inquiring minds want to know where you've gotten this idea from. Spontaneous airbag explosions would definitely be on my list of things I don't want to experience.
As for the original poster, take it to the dealer. A malfunction in at least one component has been detected. It could be a broken wire, someone leaning on the airbag, or a myriad of other things. Most people will not have the proper diagnostic tool for this.

I def would hope my airbag doesnt go while driving. I decided against not getting it fixed by the stealership bc they gave me some flippy-floppy half **** quote over $250-350 to fix it. To me, my truck is 10 years old, and has a 133,000 miles, and I maintain it very well and its very good to me. I would much rather use that $350 for some new brakes or front end work. Screw all these damn lights its such b.s
A flashing SRS light means the system has been disabled.
It is even less a "bomb waiting to go off" than is an active system. To suggest this is ludicrous.
Get the exact code. It repeats several times....
There are several "Lamp Fault Codes" summaries that have been posted. Use the quoted string as your SEARCH string to find them. Be certain you use one appropriate to your model year.
I've got this same exact problem too. code 52. i've searched all over that airbag module and there are no reset pin connectors on it. Anybody got this fixed other than taking this to dealer and get robbed?
