Engine Oil Dip Stick Replacement

I have a 2000 F-150 5.4L 4x4 and the the engine oil dip stick is stuck. I would like to replace the whole tube and dip stick. The service manual saids that you should remove the exhuast manifold. Is this really necessary? It looks like once you remove the retaining bolt it should just pull out. Than fit the new one in. Anyone ever had to replace the whole tube? Any help is appreciated

Thank you for your post. I saw that posting for a F-250 and wanted to know if anyone had done the installation on an F-150. I'd hate to get the old one out to find out I can't put the new one in with out removing the exhuast manifold.

Thanks Brandon
