Arrow 75 4x4 hi lo question.

Hi guys, Im back. I havnt posted since I sold my 66. Anyways, I just bought a 1975 Ford F100 4x4. It says Ranger XLT on the dashboard but im not sure if it is. Its got all power windows and seat w/ac. Anyways its seen alot of hardships. Nothing works inside. But it does run. Its a 4 speed manual shift. with a 360 motor. When I went to drive it home. I checked the front wheel locks and they were engaged. I dis engaged them. Since the (Hi Lo ??) shifter had no **** handle I wasnt sure If pushing it forward or reverse was the right way to put it into 2wheel high. So I pulled it back all the way toward the seat and drove it on the highway for about 30 miles. Question #1 Did I have it in 2wheel high? Question #2 If not, could i have damaged anything? Can anyone tell me the right way to use the hi lo on this truck.

You said you disengaged the front hubs so i assume you have a NP205 (part-time t-case) all the way back towards the seat is 4-Hi but the hubs were disengaged so you didn't do any harm other than wasting a little fuel by spinning your front drive shaft for no reason lol.

Most of the F100 4X4 with a 4 speed manual transmission had a 1 speed transfer case. Forward toward the dash 4WD rearward toward the seat 2WD.

Yeah it has power seat and power windows. Its very loud. The exaust manifold gaskets are totally gone. I tried using penetrating oil and a wrench to get the bolts out but 2 broke and i stopped. Im in the middle of getting the engine ready to pull. If im going to heat the bolts with a torch i want the motor out. All thats left is the motor mount bolts and bellhousing. Ive swapped motors in cars but not trucks. Any helpful hints will be appreciated. This thing sits very high.
