Truck was first sold into Denver CO. From the US it moved to Northern Ontario Canada, and has changed hands 3 times before I got it.
Cool! Denver is my area. But I thought it was previously discussed that the truck started its life in Northern California? Perhaps the first "official" (i.e., non Ford exec) customer was here?
I was looking into a console for my project, but stopped short of buying the parts due to missing pieces in the kit. Finding a donar for the hinges and latches is a pricey affair on ebay also. The mustang seats are not that hard to find, but shipping is a killer. Then whatever you pay is basically for the frames and you have to tear them down and start from scratch. They are actually more comfortable than I thought once installed though.
For the record, mine will be a knockoff and not what you have.
This truck was assembled in CA at the San Jose assembly plant, then it was used by FoMoCo most likely in CA. It was sold to a dealer after FoMoCo got thru with it.
If the truck had been used by FoMoCo in Colorado, it would have been assembled in Kansas City MO.
I have a very tired looking owners manual. In the front I can make out that it was sold to someone in Denver CO on March 15 1966 by a dealer in Aurora CO. Unfortunatly I can't make out the name of the dealer. Tried a 411 search for the owner's name but no luck. Chances are he has long since past.
Just got a copy of a 64 - 72 parts manual which should help along with the great wealth of information I am finding here. A repop copy of the 66 brochure and salesmans notes is on the way.
We are finally getting some sun so will see about getting some pics.
Checking with the library is a great idea. I let you know how it works out.
Below the dealers name in the owners manual there is "FL 231"
Does this mean anything to you?
The owner identification in the owners manual was hand printed. Unfortunatly the book was in bad shape and the printing is faded so much it is hard to read. Did try to take a pic but would not turn out
Took a look with magnifying glass, Selling dealer Do____s Glass Inc.
Thats the best we can make of it.
