I've been going through the forums and have found a lot of good information but I am still unable to fix my problem. I have a 2000 F250, 7.3 diesel. It starts and Idles just fine but there is no response when pressing the accelerator. I ordered a TPS through Dorman Products (http://www.dormanproducts.com/docume...s_Sensors2.pdf), replaced but still no change. Found and replaced the IVS fuse for good measure, no change. Local parts store was nice enough to let me borrow their OBD reader but no codes were found. When the truck is running and I hit the pedal I do get an SES light so I'm not sure why I would not find any codes. I've looked over the wiring as much as I can access and it all looks good. I do have a recall letter from Ford regarding the Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP), could that have any affect? Any ideas or thoughts?
Thanks.... Tomski
Have you tried cleaning or a little lube on the idle validation switch?
I think the SES is usually because of a conflict between the TPS and IVS.
The other fuse to check is #45.
My fuses go up to 31 so I don't have a 45. I'm glad you mentioned IVS because I've been searching but I still have no idea where this switch is. Is it attached to the pedal system or somewhere further up the line? I can't see anything on the pedal that appears electronic except for the TPS.

It's the little switch attached to the pedal assembly, at the top and behind the actual pedal lever.
#45 is in the fuse box under the hood just behind the battery.
Thanks, found it, used some electrical spray cleaner on it put it back together but she still doesn't want to go. What exactly is fuse 45? I've checked my second fuse box under the hood and it goes up to 41.
Just for the heck of it, check your MAP sensor hose, see if its still connected, long story but if that hose slipped off your throttle action will be nill. I don't have a pic but its on the passenger side to the right of the blower motor. Two screws hold this sensor to the mount.
Common superduty problem. There is a 3 wire cluster under the steering column cover that gets chaifed and causes this. Pull the upper and lower plastic steering column covers. Should be 3 or 4 screws from the bottom. Once you get the covers off, look for the wires running from the blinker side to the top of the column. Inspect those three wires real close and I bet you a beer you'll find some bare wire. Either cut, splice, heat shrink, or good ole fashioned electric tape them. Either way, fix the bare wire and you should be good to go. Hope that helps. I've also seen this problem where the gage cluster won't work. But the truck still idles.
Well I've gone through the steering column wiring and eventually found some chaffing but that was further down the line under the dash, wasn't too bad but I put a little electrical tape but no good. I did find the MAP sensor and checked the hose. I'm beginning to wonder if possible the IVR switch needs to be replaced but unfortunately I've run out of time and will have to hang my head in shame and idle down to the dealership to have them take a look. I start my vacation on Friday and have to have my truck (pulling the boat to Michigan) so I'll have to take it in. Thanks everyone, I really appreciate you guys steering me through this. I've learned a lot since this problem started, you're all a great source of information.
Tomski
The Dealer? Say it ain't so. I hope they can help you out before you go on vacation. Only problem I see is that you may not have any money left after you get your beast back.
I know, I'm bummed because I know that if I just had a couple more days I would have gotten this. Too many things to do before vacation but at least I'll save money staying with family. Of course they don't mind as long as I bring some home brew with me.
BTW, I noticed this in your first post - "Local parts store was nice enough to let me borrow their OBD reader but no codes were found." Just for future reference - the parts store OBD device usually won't read our truck's codes. You need to find someone with an Autoengenuity or similar device that can read the codes. I would almost bet that there is a code in there.
