Probably a repeated question, but what weight (not brand) of oil does most people use during the winter months? On a vehicle with over 100 k miles? Winter, consisting of temps. around 30/40 highs, during january / february.

That is not cold enough to worry about. Any multigrade is fine. I use 15W40, which is good down to -20C/+4F.
