bed section gap

bed section gap
My new F150 has a 1-2 mm gap all along both sides of the middle section of the bed floor. I have not seen this in others. I know there is an opening back towards the tailgate where the sections join, drainage, etc. But most seem to overlap the sections and this is wide enough to see the ground all along. Is this normal?
