2wd......Pretty straight forward, remove the driveshaft, pull the starter, then the inspection cover, remove the torque converter bolts, remove the cooler lines, unplug your shift selector and remove the cable, support the tranny and remove the tranny bolts.
If its a 4wd, I splitted the transfercase from my tranny to lighten it up.
If your muscling these things in you absolutly need a friend maybe even a 3rd person to come down, both the tranny and transfer case are heavy by themselves. Bolted together I can not see it going in 1 piece with out the aid of a tranny jack unless your superman.
Also, I would consider replacing the seal behind the torque converter and update the bushing that handle a little more heat and has improved drain back properties.
