Hunter40, I guess I'm a bit confused. Are you saying that the DTE works off the position of the fuel gauge needle? So it will read 375 miles to E for the first 20 gallons and when the needle starts to move, then the DTE starts to adjust?
That's the way mine works, it starts at 375 to 415. It winds down a little and readjusts every 50 or so miles back to ~400 until the needle starts to drop. Then it seems to be pretty accurate. When the dte is reading about 25 miles, I've found I still have about 4 gallons left, that's typically when I fill up.
Thanks for the info Hunter40. I thought that adding a larger tank would simply render the DTE feature useless. In my opinion, that feature is most useful when you start getting under the 75 mile range. Yet the way describe it, it still functions in that respect.
Can anyone else that has added a larger tank confirm that your info center works the same in regards to the DTE mileage?
EDIT: For what it is worth, the research that I have done is also pointing toward the Titan tanks. The best price that I have been able to find for my 2007 CC short bed is $932, including free shipping from here --> XDP. Additionally, they are offering a $600 fuel purchase credit.
I talked to an installer of the Titan. He said some customers were concerned that the back end of the tank extends quite a distance without a support strap or bracket, though noone has had a problem because of this.
Any thoughts?

For the first part of your message my computer also continued to work. I had an Aero Tank 55 gallon. It works off the fuel guage which you will straighten to get it to reach the bottom of your new larger tank. I suspect the accuracy of the computer will corelate with how well you make that adjustment. I didn't use the dte much because the MPG computer on my truck was very very accurate. I just used 50 gallon as the capacity and did the mpg vs miles on the trip odometer math in my head. Always kept 5 gal in reserve for that "special" time, which in 8 years or so never came. But the miles to empty would work if i turned over and looked at it. Now about that titan price. Are you saying you are getting a tank plus shipping plus $600 worth of fuel for $932. Cause if you are I sure want one.

That's the way that I read their ad. But there is a bit of a hitch (as there always is...) Titan will reimburse you $25 per month for two years so long as you purchase $100 worth of fuel each month.
Hunter, hi, does your sig refer to a sail boat? Also, how was the install on that tank and what size tank is it?
Not a sailboat. I like to hunt and my first badge number was 40= Hunter40
Install was not that bad. Took me about an hour and a half by myself. A second set of hands would be useful due to the bulk of the tank, but not necessary. I'm actually not sure what size I have. When I ordered it they were 52 gallons, but before the order was completed I got an email telling me the "new" ones are 51 gallons, but have baffling to help when parked on a hill and the fuel level is low. They gave me the option of which one I wanted. I emailed back that I wanted the new version but never got a reply. Thus, I either have a 51 gallon or 52 gallon tank.
I can also confirm that the DTE calculator will work once the needle starts moving. My truck typically says around 850km to empty when it's full. It will say that once I fill and then as I drive it slowly goes down. But if the tank is still reading full when I restart the truck it will go back to around 850 and then start to fall again. But as Hunter40 said once the needle gets lower in the tank the DTE gets more accurate so it still works good when you need it most.
The Titan tank is well supported and only hangs an inch lower than the stock tank (with their skid plate)
The DTE feature works once you get below the first 20-25 gallons and approach the stock fuel levels. Ford has been advised about the fuel tank size parameter issue (you can change it on earlier SD's, but not the new ones) by the upfitters and wrecker builders. No change yet.
The rebate program is run by a third party marketing outfit and is dripping with fine print, exceptions and "terms" which makes it more hassle than it is worth.
All that said this tank is among the best things I've installed. Simple to do, fabulous customer support. Great product.

Do a little reasearch on who will reimburse the $25 monthly. I did a similar deal (not on a fuel tank) What I got was a voucher that allowed you to sign up on line, at sign up time you have to select what brand of fuel you would use (Shell, Exxon etc.) in return I got a sheet with gas coupons that I had to mail in along with $100 woth of receipts each month. I did this for 3 months and never received any money. On line I found over 600 BBB complaints. It appears to be a scam. So do a google search on the company before considering the rebate as part of the deal.
I love my Titan 67 gallon replacement tank. I should have install it sooner. Those of you with the OEM tank, that do any type of long distance driving own it yourself to get one. it makes long trips so much faster, and more enjoyable. Now, I stop when I feel like it, and not every 200 miles with my OEM tank.
Bolted right in, with no modifications to my 2008 F450. Gauge is accurate, but stays "F" until the first 30 gallons of fuel burns off.
