I found a plastic tank with a metal shield surrounging it in the back of a 1979 F150 4x4. The number on the tank reads D7TA-9104 FC. Other marking are Chemplex 57026. I searched and found no mounting brackets on the truck frame or anywhere. the driver side metal shield has three mounting holes measuring 1"-10 1/2" -20 1/4" on center These holes match up with three holes on my frame rail. The pass. side metal shield has has four mounting holes space 5" apart on the ends and5 1/4" on the ends. These holes match up with holes on the cross members of the frame. Does this metal shield mount directly to the frame with no other brackets?
Under MY dash can I find the grey plug that goes to the fuel tank selctor swith on the heater control area, so I can use the factory tank switch? Did all 1979 have this wiring option?
I'm not sure if all MAIN wiring harnesses (14401) had the aux fuel plug or not? I was trying to find out in regards to my 1978. I know for 1978, there are THREE main harness numbers, they are all 14401, I think they are 14401-U,F, and M. As far as I could find, each one specifies to a range of serial numbers. What the difference is IF ANY, I do not know!
I need one for a 1978 f-150 4wd. Truck had dual tanks, but when we put the body on a 4WD frame, the 2wd tank was too long. 4WD is shorter due to the transfer case. Anyone have a complete setup for sale?
