I'm looking to put a set of Banks headers on my 2000 Ltd. Excursion and Banks lists 3 possible options:
<TABLE><TBODY><TR class=oddrow><TD> Ford 6.8L Trk, W/egr Late Cat #49133
</TD><TD class=textcenter></TD><TD class=textcenter></TD></TR><TR class=evenrow><TD> Ford 6.8L Trk, W/egr Erly Cat #49136
</TD><TD class=textcenter></TD><TD class=textcenter></TD></TR><TR class=oddrow><TD> Ford 6.8L Trk No-Egr, Late Cat #49138
I assume that's its either #49133 or #49136, but I don't know the difference between the two. Can anyone tell me which is the one I should be looking to order?
I assume it has to do with which y-pipe you have. What I don't understand is it's possiable to have the earlier y-pipe and no EGR (like my 2000) but I don't see that as an option.
Many 2000 also had the same y-pipe/cat combo the 1999's did. In 2000 there was a TSB that replaced the y-pipe/cat with the one that was on all 2001+ models if the owner complained of flutter. I know mine has the same y-pipe/cat as the 1999's had.
I think what they talk about is the Cat mount up flange with the factory y-pipe. Early is the mounting flange behind the cross member, late the mounting flange is in front of the cross member.
Antelope, I note in your sig that you've got a Trutrac limited slip. My Excursion is going in the shop next week to get a gear swap to 4.30's and I was thinking about having a Trutrac installed while the diff was apart. How do you like yours?
