Finaly got the truck back last thursday after 7 months in the shop. As soon as I pulled out of the shop it fealt a little off. Got home and had 4-5 quarts of fuel in the oil of my brand new motor. Tore into it and found both push rods on #7 bent fron the lifter hold down breaking. It looked a little fatigured but how common of a problem is this?
I talked with Beans about it and they have seen it happen on stock and modified trucks and said theirs a good chance it wipped out the rinfs and rod on that cylinder.
Im woundering if my cam is causing issues. The Duration adn Intake and Exhaust are 250 and the loft is .416 on both the intake and exhaust. Anyone ever fool around with a custom cam?
The guy doing my motor is woundering if we should put a shim under those plates to accomadate fot the extra lift
Update: Pulled the heads cam and lifters look ok. A valve definatly did make contact on the #7 piston. Gonna pull the pan this afternoon and check rods and send heads back out to make sure nothing else broke.
