My backup camera is slowly draining my battery each day. It is hooked directly to the battery and this is causing it to drain the battery. I need to know which wire feeds power to the trailer brake plug so that I can try to splice it into that. If there isn't a power feed to the plug, the I guess i will just have to splice into some sort of accessory like the cigarette lighter.
You probably should stick a switch on there, or hook it up to your back up lights, or just do an accessory wire that turns on with the ignition. Otherwise that camera is on 24-7..
When I wired mine up at the Riffraff Tech Day, I wanted it on a rocker switch so I could decide when it's on or off, not just when the truck is in reverse.
