Looking for a different steering wheel for my F1.......something kinda old-timey. The truck has the stock column w/3 on the tree. Be nice if it was a little smaller wheel to clear my gut! Say 16" with not much dish? What will fit? Only Ford wheels? What years? I'm not real crazy about the 'new' style wheels, they look out of place in an old truck. What are you guys using in your trucks??? Any ideas or pics will help! Thanks, T/M
I haven't checked size or fit, but I personally think a '64 f-100 with the horn ring looks best... maybe my years are off, its early, lol, but there are some neat steering wheels out the 50s and 60s.

If it's a 48 you can probably fit an older wheel on it but not a newer one. It's my understanding that 48 and prior (don't know how far back it goes but possibly back to 1929) steering wheels (truck and possibly car) interchange. If it's a 49-52 F-1, then you should be able to fit a steering wheel up to 1957 on it (49-57 trucks only), and then 58-60 (trucks only). Verify with someone else before you buy one because my memory isn't what it used to be. I'm using a Grant classic wheel on my truck. I would not use anything smaller than a 15 inch wheel.
Vern, thanks for the info.........I know fords from the early 30's used a keyway, not sure when they started using splines. I was hoping to find a pass car wheel that would fit.......they are a little more stylish. T/M
