Very awesome!! I am very jealous! I've always had a soft spot for early Rancheros and I still kick myself in the hiney for ever getting rid of mine. I owned a 59 Ranchero 20 plus years ago. I finally destroyed the engine and ended up selling for $400 and a case of beer toa hunchback.
Those are great. Nice score. Those are tied in my book as the best looking cartruck with the first Elkys...maybe this Ranchero is a bit higher on the list. Love it.
It's a caruck. So, you now have the opportunity to ride the fence and argue with both sides. "It's a truck" "no, it's a car". we had a '59. Won the ugly truck contest every year at the local Stew-Do. It had a 352, and a factory posi. Man, that thing would haul @$$$. It was nothing to run I-80 between Fernley, and Reno, NV in excess of a buck ten. Wanna get int he way, fine, we'll mat the pedal and boogy on around you. Good score. They do look best with subtle exterior styling changes.
Thanks for all the positive comments! I definitely plan to drive the wheels off of it and enjoy every moment! Every time I drive the Ranchero I get a big ole Grin on my face.
The word didn't show the goofy expression on my face. I was going for the dopey vulture on the old loony toons look, maybe a little three stooges mixed in, and perhaps a little Jim from American Pie. I dunno, maybe just some good ole fashioned Goofy from the old Disney cartoons. They need an internet that can sence expression, and translate it into text.
