side trim

can someone tell me how those clips on the sides of the box and all when theres no trim on..i wanna kno how the clips are on...im looking into buy a box for a 77 but its got those clips on and i dont have a truck that came with the trim and wondering how to get them off and just fill the holes in...any help please

Clips in the dent? The plastic clips, just pop them upward and they come right off, the metal **** that the plastic pops onto are installed with a one sided spot welder, just grind the off.

The plastic clips are held on by tabs that are part of the bed. You'd have to grind them off and then fill in a couple holes for the other tabs.

Think there's one that's held on by a nut that you can access by reaching up just in front of the rear tire. The rest are held on by the plastic clips as described above. Some sales catalogs have a good exploded view of the clips and trim pieces. I used an LMC catalog as a guide.
