Them are the only ones i have found too. I thought yall might know of somewhere else. Maybe if we got enough people wanting a 73-79 4X4 , we could find a company to make one. Wonder if they would be willing to make us some? Just a thought.
Hot Wheels already tooled the body for the Sam Walton truck. It wouldn't take much to reuse that same body with some other trim variations - maybe even make a 4x4 version... I think it would take a pretty big demand for them to produce something like that though... We might have a better chance with one of the smaller companies...
I emailed 2 diecast makers about this. Let's just hope they email me back. I hope we can get this in the making. I know i would want a lifted one with some bigger tires if i could get it. Im not worried about paint , because we can always have them airbrushed or painted etc.
yea man i agree it would be cool to get some made with different options like with trim and 2x4 and 4x4 and with differnt trim and all that it would be cool and if we could get them in all years (73-79) and like bigun said a lifted one would be awesome!!
I'm going to guess that even if you can get one of the manufacturers to commit to making a truck for you, you will not be getting different variations. They might be talked into a run of a minimum of 50 or more units and those will be one color, one style.
I used to be part of a motorcycle forum a couple years ago where they did the same thing with the particular type of motorcycle we rode. With that, we had to place a minimum order of 50 and they only came in one color and it was a bone stock model. The only reason we could get that to happen is because they had previously produced them and were able to be convinced into making another run. However, there was no way to convince them to change the style they made. Without placing a huge order of thousands of models, you just won't have any pull with the company.
That said, if you do get a commitment from anyone to produce some, count me in. I'd love one, even if it's not all that close to what my real truck is. It can be modified...
