'46 Ford engine swap question

Hello everyone,
I am new to Ford trucks, I have been a Dodge truck guy my whole life and have recently seen the light. I have picked up a couple of Ford trucks: a '96 power stroke F-350 crew cab 4x4 and a '46 1/2 ton with a 6 cyl in it. The 96 is the family truckster, and the 46 was given to my son by his grand dad who is 86 years old. He bought the truck in '52 and drove it until '61 when he parked it in his barn. It has sat there since until about 3 months ago when he gave it to my son (who is 2 years old). I would like to get the old truck running with a 5.0 engine from a Mustang and a 5 speed manual. My question is do you all know where I can find some information about a swap like this? I would like to use it as a hot rod for a while until my son gets old enough to restore it with me the way he wants it. In the meantime I would like to have some fun with it. Any ideas? Thanks,
--Chuck

First, is there anything wrong with the engine that is in it? If not, it would be major points in the cool factor with the old straight six with a couple of carbs on it instead of a newer engine.

Also check out the H.A.M.B. Regsiter there and ask some questions. Lots of hot rod knowledge there. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/index.php
