They have right now a decent shape 92 Ford truck with175,000km on it. It was keyed along the side. Bidding starts at $800.00 only needs mech.inspection.
Then there is a 66 Falcon 2dr that is really totaled. Got hit hard in the back end with a 89 motor.
But I would be very tempted with the 92. It looks like there is no rust and in good clean condition.
Thats what I thought. Most are interested in the newer than 97 trucks unless it is a diesel. But the condition and KM's on this may bring over a 1000 for it, but it is the middle of summer and lots of people are at lakes or holidays.
Dont get a 351W in a halfton.(probably why it only has 170XXX) I had my old 1993 up to 6mpg after a tune up. 351s were good motors but were really fuel hungry they did pt out alot of hp but in a 2wd regcab a 302 or 300 in those years are more then ample.
I have had a 96 with a 302 and a 94 with a 351 and the 302 handled everything the 351 did and got better mileage. Although the 351 was never that bad 17mpg highway 13 putting around and it was hard on oxygen sensors. Every time the mileage dropped I learnt to just go buy a new sensor because like Ryan said the mileage went do to 6 mpg.
My truck has the 351W engine. Sadly it is a pig. But put a load on the truck and it always seems to get better mileage.
My trip to White Fox to move my mother down here got me 13mpg then and the Melville trip. I got 11mpg. With no load it drops to 6 MPG. which is terrible.
So that would explain why my truck has only 150,000 K's on it.
I been told the trucks with overdrive and fuel injected get better mileage.
That is why I see trucks with 351 or 5.8 I just want to avoid because of the gas mileage, But it is true they sure have power for towing and hauling.

In all reality though, a grand for a truck like that with no rust is still pretty cheap, even with it only needing the mechanical.

That is kinda amazing, usually guys that have the 351 say that they are monsters compared to a 302 when in a truck.

You should give a efi 302 a shot. My 89 gets great mileage, around 20 in the summer on the highway. Thats unloaded and driving nice mind you, and it is a 2wheel drive, has a manual tranny, and 3:08 gears.
