i just found out today i have 4.10's - are these common for a F350 SRW - also what are the pros and cons, when my tack reads 2000 rmps my speed is 62mph, im running bf 315's
...honestly, i don't think the 4.10s themselves really cause the fuel to go faster: i CAN keep my mpg the same as when i had 3.55s IF i stay off the accelerator. that is much easier said than done since 37s + 3.55 = slow and 37s + 4.10 = much faster. every now and then i just can't help myself and go blasting out of an intersection because it's summer and i can and i love showing off my truck
your speedo is off if you have 4.10's and 315's. 70mph shoudl be 2000 rpm running 315 75 16's on 4.10 gears. 62 mph at 2000 rpm on 4.10's is stock size tire readings
