My "playing" term is one I use loosely and in a joking manor. It was my way of saying I get paid to do cad all day and therefore sit here behind the glowing box.
Luckily my business is still doing very well. We have this small bubble of pretty dang rich people down here that I am lucky enough to work with/for and they're still spending like it's going out of style.
Yes our state is broke - but I have nothing to do with that. With how much they are raping me tax wise I'm doing quite a bit to keep our economy afloat

Nothing wrong with earning a living staring into the mid-numbing box. I do, never thought I would. I like being outside, working with my hands and my back.

continuing the hijack...
It's just hard to swallow sometimes when people will spend $100k+ (yes the 2nd zero is supposed to be there) on PATIO FURNITURE!!!! Sure we made 20% on that order and it keeps our business going, but with people loosing houses right and left, etc. it gets hard to fathom at times.
I too like to be outside. I'm a liscensed Landscape Architect and never thought I'd be inside behind a computer all day when I was in school. It just turns out I started doing cad as an intern and I'm good/fast at it - so I get stuck doing this more than anything else now
There is a reason I spend darn near every night/weekend working in my shop on the trucks or surfing - I NEED to get away from this computer by the end of the day!

I would definitely like to meet up with you guys, it would prob. be a bit before I could get down there, but I will keep you guys posted.
I took the truck out for a test this weekend and I found a few flaws in the swap. For one the custom 100+gal gas tank has a VERY misplaced pickup tube. It is on the drivers side all the way to the front of the tank, this makes air come into the fuel line on any incline or passenger side drops. It sucks to have to prime the truck when ever that happens . I have figured out what I'm going to do to fix it, shouldn't be to hard. Other than that the thing wheels like a dream!!!! LONG but wheels good.
The other thing I noticed was I have a LOT of tranny slippage. I towed a buddy of mine's 1979 SuperCab short bed 4x4 of to the trail. In 3rd gear with the overdirve on I was pushing about 2300-2400rpm and only going around 40-45mph. On the freeway without the trailer at that rpm I would be going around 70-75mph. So I need to rethink the tranny, I might try to find as manual out of an older Dodge with the 5.9.
Anyway I will talk it over with the wife and my brother-in-law about the trip down there and let you guys know.
thanks
