trailer lights not working

When i use a volt meter and test my trailer plug on the rear of the truck only the parking lights seem to get power. Nothing else seems to be getting any more power no matter if i try turn signals or brake lights.

What year is your truck? Did your trailer lights work before?

Don't forget that there may be fuses and relays under the hood also, depending on what year your truck is.

All the fuses are under the dash on the 03's you will have seperate fuses for the trailer wiring. Do you have an owners manual with the fuse location?

#20 is trailer tow/turn, #38 is trailer park lamps, #39 is trailer backup, #101 is trailer brakes, #115 is trailer battery charge.

Have a look under the truck where the trailer wiring harness plugs into your main harness and make sure it's not coming loose.

Then you have a blown fuse or a bad relay somewhere still.

In the underhood fuse box on a 2000, you should check fuse #s 1 and 3. Be careful, the fuse locations on the lid of my underhood fuse box were printed backwards.
