96 Bronco

Push button 4x4 light comes on by itself. Any idea's? Local Ford Dealer has no answer.

Does the one on the instrument cluster (4x4) come on too, or just the one on the button? Does it actually engage 4 wheel?

Both the light on the dash and the button come on. The truck does not engage into 4wd when this happens. And my mistake, this is a 94 bronco,5.0,e4od,184,000 miles

Hmm I figured the light in the switch was probably shorting or something. The backlighting in mine doesn't work in mine unless you wack it. Someone else maybe able to give you an answer. Are you sure it isn't trying to engage the motor on the tcase? Is your 4x4 working corectly otherwise?
