I installed a new dist cap, new quality plug wires, new condensor, verified that all wiring on the distributor and coil was clean and tight. Rechecked and verified timing, installed new fuel filters.
It runs perfectly now with now hesitation or popping/snorting and wheezing like it had been doing.
I am very grateful for all the advice shared and given. Thanks guys.
Hello, I am a new member to this forum. I realize this is an old thread but you seem to have the same components on your engine as I do. 391 IND with 2BBL Intake, Motorcraft 2100.
I'm having some of the same issues you described but already replaced all the items you listed. Did you keep the #57 Jets in the carb? Do you have a governor on carb or distributor?
I originally had the 330 and swapped out for the 391 but kept the 2bbl intake. Afraid I ran it to lean for too long already.
Also, what spark plugs do you use?
