fair made a new gay rule IMO that since i have stacks im modified. therefore i have to do fuel or air shut off or alternate hook point on the truck for the modified pulling class. can yall give me some ideas on how/ where to mount this stupid chain? i was thinkin drill holes in the back corner of the frame on each side on bolt on a chain with grade A bolts. or if any of you have a way for fuel or air shut off please let me know. thanks alot guys
You can run the power for the fuse to the PCM (fuse #22) or the IDM (fuse #9) through a pull cutoff switch mounted on the rear bumper. No power to the PCM or IDM shuts down the truck, if the PCM or IDM are not getting power then no fuel is injected, thus a fuel cut off.
To make a temporary setup that can be removed when your not at the track, (build it before pluging it into the truck) get an inline fuse holder for the MAXI fuse, beak a MAXI fuse and cut the legs apart. solder one leg to the end of a suitable gauge wire, plug into the hot side where the fuse was, short distance wire in the inline fuse holder & insert MAXI fuse, run wire to the rear of the truck, wire in the pull disconnect switch, run wire from disconnect switch back to fuse box and plug into other side of fuse slot.
Now all you have to do is open the fuse box, pull the maxi fuse out, put it in the inline fuse holder and plug the ends of your wires into the fuse slot in the box, make your runs, and then put the maxi fuse back int he fuse box when you leave the track.

As soon as I get a locker and a chip I'll go out and give it a shot... don't care if I lose as long as I have some fun! Planning on going to some test and tunes and the local drag strip soon. See if I can break the 20 second 1/4 mark! HAHA
same here. and joe i know ill get owned but im not out to win. besides they said stock is stock all exhaust needs to be factory OEM. muffler and all. how many amps is the fuse gonna have to be?
by the way my dad pulled his SD in 2 wheel last year cause he forgot to lock the hubs. moved the sled a wapping 20 feet. i went 240. almost a full pull
I'm not a sled puller, but if I understand it right the rule is for "IF a truck breaks away from the sled it can not become a runaway". It will be the same kind of switch that is used on boats, jet ski's, etc. The one's for a boat have a small key (plastic that does not turn) with a cord and a clip on it. You put the key in the switch, clip the cord to your life vest and if your thrown out of the boat or off the jet ski, it pulls the key out and shuts down the boat or ski.
Use this type of switch with a cord and clip to attach to the sled. Ask the sled puller guys at your fair, they should be able to tell you where to get one.
You will use the fuse that is in the fuse location now.
still debating on wat to do. im going to see the chairman tomorrow. im under the weather now. had an allergic reaction to the spinal meningitis vaccine i needed for college. will update tomorow
