Question Boreing a 400

I was wonderin wat tha average cost to bore a 400 about 60 over is? Anybody got a clue , i know it will vary a good bit by location etc. Just needin a average cost.

I think you will have to have it sonic checked to go .060, most people try to go .040 or less. Sorry I cant help you with the price haven't had any work done in a while.

reckon how much to bore it .040 then? ? I been lookin at rebuild kits , i thank ima go with .040

I talk to a guy at a machine shop at NAPA just the other day about boring my 351m and he told me 12 dollars a hole

In my experience, boring has been part of a package deal that also includes
cleaning & inspection & whatnot.

So, I guess the answer is, "it depends." Call around and ask....

sounds perdy good to me , i figured it wud cost more than that.

Boring is pretty cheap. I think you can get your block bored, magnafluxed, sonic checked, etc all for less than $200

My local shop bore my block .030 over for 350 $(CAN money) and it's include hot tank, clean, inspect, new cam bearing, new frost plug and they paint the block the colour of my choice, blue ford of course. They also change the tips of the pipe that goes in to the block for the prestone. I was supprise !
