Proportioning Valve

Looking for a Proportioning valve for a 67 f100 do to when I went to replace a peice of line the threades stripped out of the old one. Just wondering if anyone had one laying around on an old parts truck.

Have had sore luck with using aftermarket ones on stock brakes on past projects.

National Parts Depot http://www.npdlink.com/index.php
has tons of N.O.S (New Old Stock) for the 48-79 Ford Truck.
I have had good luck with parts from them. as far as the valve it self I can offer no help.

Maybe Im crazy, But I fully believe a Stock, OEM brake system on a 67 f100 did NOT have a Proportioning valve in it.

My 1970 does not have one but that does not indicate it did not come with one.

MidMich67,

If your looking for OEM parts, then you need to ask Number Dummy. If anyone has them, he'll find them. Send him a PM.

Good Luck,

John

If the vehicle (car or truck) has a dual master cylinder, it does have a proportioning valve.

1967 was the first year Ford offered dual master cylinders.

C7TZ2B257B .. Brake Differential Proportioning Valve / Obsolete

Fits: 1967 F100/350 only. 1968/72 is not the same, and there are three different types of these.

DON SANDERSON FORD in Glendale AZ has ONE = 623-642-8762.

DENNIS CARPENTER'S OBSOLETE PARTS DIVISION in Concord NC has ONE = 704-786-8139.

No other Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

National Parts Depot does not sell obsolete parts as a general rule.

If they do have anything that's obsolete, it's usually...only...because the new parts they bought from FoMoCo, went obsolete after the fact.

Where oh where could they be possibly buying the obsolete parts? Looking for this stuff cold turkey is no piece of cake.

Most aftermarket aka reproduction parts sellers have no Ford parts catalogs and the ppl that work for them have ZERO Ford parts experience.

How can one sell obsolete Ford parts without this knowledge? They cannot. They can only go by what their own catalogs list.

What they do sell is parts that are still available from Ford and reproduction parts.

What most ppl do not know is...that there are 1000's of parts for 1961/79 trucks still available from Ford.

Most of this stuff is mechanical/electrical. Very few trim or body parts are available. This is what the aftermarket parts sellers specialize in.

btw: The largest obsolete parts vendor on the planet is Green Sales Co (greensalescompany.com) in Cincinnati OH

They do have all the parts catalogs, their employees are all ex-Ford partsmen. Over the past year, they have bought out two other obsolete parts vendors, and...

A HUGH cache of parts from the Jordanian Government who bought the stuff in the 1960/70's for replacement parts for their Ford trucks.

Newbie here. Have owned my 69 F100 since 1982. Been a good truck, have done alot of mods to it, used to be my daily driver but now just sits around the property.
Lots of good memories in that truck, decided to start to play with it again. Am going to add disc brakes and power steering. In the past have changed from 3 spd. to C6 auto, power brakes, lots of suspension work, changed rear end to 3.70 Detroit locker, 16" wheels with larger tires. 360 to 390, Performer manifold, holley carb. Electric cooling fans,... can't think of the rest right now (a little done over a lot of years adds up).
Anyway, I just ordered some parts from Dennis Carpenter. The part I wanted (the rest of parts were just add-ons to the order) was "out of stock". I guess they don't back order, so I need to order the part again they said. I will need to pay shipping and handling charges again for the part I most wanted.
As far as I am concerned, this is a cheezy way to do business, actually now I remember why I quit using them in the past - guess my memory for pain failed me on this one.
Heads up for anyone else ordering parts, probably best to call them and check parts stock before turning in your order.

You are confusing the issue...as you are buying reproduction parts.

Dennis Carpenter has a reproduction parts division and an obsolete parts division.

When someone is looking for a gen-u-ine Ford NOS obsolete part like this proportioning valve, I type the Ford part number, and all the sources that have it.

It's up the the person that is asking to call Carpenter and verify they have it.

What is the part Carpenter does not have you are looking for?

Maybe I can you find a NOS Gen-u-ine Ford original obsolete part.

btw: I visited DC's place in June 2004, bought 3 grand worth of stuff for my two 1963 Galaxies.

The hood letters were on back order. Since I paid for everything up front, including the shipping charges to CA...when DC got them, they passed them along.

That's nice, but it will not work on the OP's truck, which is a 1967 F100.

You have this: C8TZ2B257B .. Brake Differential Proportioning Valve / Use with Drum Brakes only.

Fits: 1968/72 F100/250 2WD / 1968/72 F350.

There are THREE different valves used in 1967 F100/350's. They are 1967 ONLY.

One for F100/250 2WD and F350's, another for F100 4WD's, and a third for F250 4WD's.
