Adjusting shift points in a C6
I was wondering if there is a way to adjust the shift points in a C6 in an 86 F350. I have been told that you can do it by adjusting the screw under the vacum port on the shift modulater. But I have no clue as to if it adjusts the 1-2 shift or the 2-3 shift or both. Right now my truck shifts out of 1st gear at about 1000 RPM and into high at about 2100 RPM I would like to have this thing hold first a little longer. I am hoping this will stiffen up my 1-2 shift to make it feel like my 2-3 shift (stiff). I alos would like to have it hold 1st a little longer to make it easier to merge into traffic. My truck idles at about 650 RPM (diesel) and at 1000 rpm it is coming out of first at about 7-10 MPH. Sorry about the long post but I am rather clueless to automatics, owned manuals my whole life. Thank You for the time.
